please forgive me for not writing for so long its just been really crazy around here. but just so you guys know im loving it here so much thank you for all your support and prayers. god has done so much in my life and im getting to know god like i have never known him before.
we have been having some amazing speakers like Art Collins, Dean Sherman, Al Akimoff, Jerry Praetzel, Peter Illyn, and this week is Graeme Hackworth.
Art went through how to really study the bible and how to use cross referencing and concordances. Dean taught us about spiritual warfare and relationships. if you have never heard Dean Sherman i really suggest you check him out he has a couple books out and some dvds he really is amazing. Al talk on Creating with God/Evangelism. he went through a bunch of ways to reach people and how to be creative in reaching them and to never fear when god tells you to do something do it and he will put you where your needed and he will provide. he told us stories of where he would smuggle bibles into areas that it was illegal and they started small and they had a prayer they would use it went a little like this.' if you can make the blind see, let the seeing be blind.' and they went from briefcases to semi trucks full of bibles. just a really inspiring man. then Jerry did a teaching on Plumbline. this was dealing with things like breaking bonds in our life. seeing where our line was pulled and how to deal with it whether it be a sin and an actual curses from our past ancestors.
Peter talked on 'The Cross' and what it means to take it up and live by it and what it means to us. he used a story his father told him. it was the story of his fathers upbring. his dad knew the lord by the age of 5 and thats when he became an orphan and the people who raised them beat him and hardly fed him. through all this he never got angry at God. its just an incredible story there is just to much that happened. it was never ending like that for his dad, just story after story of bad things happening and he stays happy and devoted to God. he is in the process of writing a book about it and i think its finished hes just waiting on the publisher. i'll let you know the name of it when i find out. but anyways Graeme is talking about frontier missions and he is so cool. i have only heard him talk today and already he is challenging ideas we have and really putting us on the spot with situation that we will face in the field.
one more speaker we have is Tim Svoboda. i don't know if any of you know who he is but he lived in India for 25 years. he is now our base director out here and he is just incredible. but he is speaking on urban mission and he does that every friday afternoon. he really is going to change a lot of things around here and he has huge plans for San Francisco. i really believe that he will be the one to change this city around. hes talking about huge church planting and new ministries and all kinds of stuff.
A Nice View of San Francisco
we are as a group about two thousand dollars short for outreach and if you guys could be praying for these funds to come in that would be amazing and just a thing for me i have been sick these past few weeks and im getting a lot better but just pray for good health for me and our team here as well. but again thank you all so much for everything it really means a lot to me and my family. thank you thank you thank you!
Also i wont be able to keep in contact while we are over seas because it is illegal for us to evangelize there and we dont want to get kicked out or worse have people imprisoned for us talking to them. so sorry but we have to keep a little bit of a low profile. i promise i will write one last time before i head out. so if anyone has any questions please contact me as soon as you can so i may get back to you before its to late! my email is dbechthold@live.com

Sorry its been a while since i have talked to you guys but i just want you to know that I'm loving it out here in san francisco. it already has changed my life so much. i am really growing in all aspects of life. god i know has great plans for me and I'm really excited to see what he does. i know i couldn't have gotten here without all your prays and support. you all mean so much to me and i don't know how i can ever repay you for all the blessing you've poured out upon me and my family. not much has been going on here because all of us here are just getting settled in but one amazing thing that's happened was on friday night we went down and handed out hot chocolate and worshiped on a corner in market street from 8 to 1030 at night. it was a lot of fun and i really felt god working and i really cant wait to get back out there and do it again. but anyway i'll try and keep you and everybody updated with what's going on in my life. i love you all and god bless.

dear friends,
i love it so much out here! i'm really doing well i am getting closer and closer to god every day. god is doing amazing things. we have started a new ministry where we go up to polk street and talk to street kids and invite them back to the base to do art. this week we actually went out and grab all the cameras that we could get and we just went out and did photography. so we printed out all the pictures and next week we will paste them on a board and write scripture on it relating to beauty and such things. also now instead of going out and just handing out hot chocolate we do that and worship on the streets its so amazing to see god working.
on another note i really wanted to thank everyone for there support. i almost have everything i need I'm only a few hundred short but that will be nothing to get. i don't want you to give any more to me because you all have given so much i love you all for everything. but i know god will provide so I'm not worried. but god is amazing and i love you all so much and if anyone has any questions for me my email is red_medicine_1@hotmail.com. but hope you all are doing well and you'll all be in my prayers. godbless
